I Knew Them Well

I knew the boy
Who became the man
Who stood in the rain
Just to numb the pain
The say one who stood
In front of that train
That refuse to live another day
I knew the girl
Who became the woman
Who lived in shamed
Slit her wrist
Just to make it all go away
I knew the human race
What became the disease
That took the pleasure
In seeing someone fall to their knees
These are the things
That haunt my dreams
As I lie in bed
Eyes wide open
Listening to this tune
That will weigh us down in shame
